When you speak about MS-Word, many would think it’s all about typing and printing but far from it, Microsoft word is the hope for our daily office transactions.
Definition: Microsoft Word is application software, designed to create and manipulate different kinds of documents.

The above definition is clear and self-explanatory. But for the sake of our new comers in the Microsoft community, it is necessary that I place more clarity to the above definition.

Firstly, Microsoft is a corporation or organization, owned by William Henry (aka Bill Gate) and his co-founder Paul Allen. This company (Microsoft) deals with software and hardware and several other electronic aspects. Their presence in the computer world helped to transform the use of computer from complex to simple. Some will likely ask “WHY”, yes, Microsoft Company created Microsoft windows, an operating system (OS) whose interface is user-friendly. It provides you with a well planned layouts, tabs, bars, tools and icons etc, which the user will see and apply, rather than then operating systems which do not show any graphics, nor have well designed layouts for easy manipulation but basically codes and short-cuts.

Examples of software created by Microsoft (Microsoft Products)
Below are few Microsoft products;
1.    Windows (XP, 7, 8, 10 etc)
2.    Word
3.    Power Point
4.    Excel
5.    Publisher
6.    Outlook
7.    OneNote
8.    OneDrive
9.    MSN
10. Bing
11. Skype
Above are just few lists of Microsoft products. All these above listed products are what I am dedicated to teach, guide and instruct you on how to use them. However, on this very post; I shall thoroughly talk about Microsoft Word and explain every bit of it to your satisfaction. Kindly bring near you computer system (Desktop, Laptop or any other device you can use for this lesson).
Please, if you are unsure what Microsoft Word is, kindly refer to Introduction to Microsoft Word

This is very simple, kindly locate and double on the Microsoft word icon on your desktop or follow the procedures below.

How to begin typing or creating a document in Microsoft word:
Just as I earlier stated, Microsoft is a well planned organization and same are their products. You do not need any setting to begin creating your documents. The best printing layout, margin and paper size for office documents are already set as default for your use.
Now, all you need to do is click on the Microsoft page (specifically on the left corner of your page as British taught us to always write from the left margin to the right), and then begin your typing.

How to Align my text Left, Centre, Right or Justify:
The image below will explain to you better on how to align your text left, center, right or justify. Follow the labels on the image below.

The section labeled (1) is left alignment. When you click there, it means you want to align your text left. Keyboard short-cut for left alignment is  Ctrl + L
·
The section labeled (2) is Centralize. When you click there, it means you want to align your text to the centre. Keyboard short-cut for placing your text on the centre of your page is  Ctrl + E
·
The section labeled (3) is right alignment. When you click there, it means you want to align your text right. Keyboard short-cut for left alignment is  Ctrl + R
·
The section labeled (4) is for justification. When you click there, it means you want to justify your text. Keyboard short-cut justify text paragraphs is  Ctrl + J
