WHAT
IS POWER POINT: Power point is a graphic package that
is used for the presentation of programs, to organize and present information
very well and professionally for seminar, lectures and meetings. It can also be
used for presentation like Firm show,
advertisement etc.
HOW
TO OPEN MS-POWER POINT:
Click on the start
button and select all programs, click on Microsoft office from the box that
will appear and select ms-power point. Or right click on the desktop icon
containing ms-power point on the desktop and select open.
POWER
POINT SCREEN: the power point screen is not different
from that of the ms-words though there are features that are changed to fit the
functions and purpose of power point. Below contains the layout of power point
screen and their basic tool and functions.
SLIDE: the slide is a unit of power point presentation window. The slide
serves as the page while the presentation window displays its contents.
HOW TO INSERT
MORE SLIDE: normally if you open power
point, is only one slide you will see. So is left to you to insert more slide
if needed:
To insert more slides into your
presentation, use any of the following processes:
1.
Click on New slide from the quick
access tool bar in the home tab
2.
Right click on the ready made
slide and select New slide
3.
Or press control plus M (ctrl +M)
in your keyboard
APPLYING
CUSTOMIZED ANIMATION:
you can add a dramatic element to your slide show by adding special
effect to your slide, one by one or together. These effects enable your text or
objects appear or display in a dramatic way during slide show: follow the
following procedure:
1. Click
on Animation and select custom animation
2. A
box will appear at the task pane, then click on add effect
3. Select
any kind of effect from the following
Entrance:
this is the effect your text or object will display when it is entering the
screen during slide show.
Emphasis:
the effect your text or object will display when it already on the screen. i.e
when it will stay for at least 10 seconds for people to see and read the
contents of your presentation.
Exit:
this is the effect it will take when it is about leaving the screen
Motion path: this
has to do with the moving of your text or object (should it come from the right
or the left hand side of the screen.
HOW
TO REMOVE AN EFFECT: this is when you don’t want your
text or object to display any effect; you can decide to remove the already
given effect. Do this to remove your
effect:

Select (object) or highlight (text) the
things you want to remove effect from then
from the task pane where your selected add effect, click on remove.
HOW
TO VIEW YOUR SLIDE FULL SCREEN
Click on view tab and
select slide show or press F5 on your keyboard.
PAGE
SETUP: page setup help you put your page on portrait or
landscape, and even set the size of your presentation window.
Click on design tab and
select page setup, make your settings from the box that will appear and click
ok.
SLIDE
DESIGN you can give design to your slide, some designs are
automatic while some can be customized. To give design to your slide take this
procedure:

Click on design tab and select any form
of design of your choice from the list of designs displayed in the quick access
tool bar

Or from that design tab you click on
colors and select any kind of color you want.
SLIDE
SHOW SETTINGS: there are few that needs to be set so
as to have an attractive presentation: the settings in slide shoe include the
following: speed, sound, on mouse click
and automatic after (time).
These
above mentioned settings will be achieved by clicking on animation, then from
the right hand side of the quick access tool bar lye’s the settings:
HOW
TO DESIGN A COMPLEMENTARY CARD
1.
Draw rectangle on your page, (no size is
specified)
2.
Select/Click on the inserted rectangle,
3.
Click on format
4.
Immediately, a measurement box will
appear on the display bar, at the right hand side of display bar,
5.
Take your ruler, measure the width and
height of the card (sample)
6.
Input the width and height into the
measurement box on the display bar
7.
And press enter. After the above procedures, you can continue with the input
of colors and text.
